How does it work?
We have tried to make the process as easy as possible:-

- You tell us what you need us to do.
- We send you a quotation.
- If you are happy with the quote you let us know you are happy with it.
- We process as required and if we are happy with the results we email an invoice.
- You can pay via PayPal, bank transfer or credit/debit card.
- We send your media back with your tapes and hopefully you are as pleased as we are.
Do you return my tapes?
Our quotation will assume that you do want them back unless you have previously indicated otherwise. The return postage & packing cost will reflect this. If you would rather we recycled your tapes after conversion just let us know before any invoice is paid. In that case delivery of your DVDs and/or flash drive will be free of charge.

Do you include any editing in the cost?
With respect to video tape transfer, copies are normally straight conversions of the original tapes. However, there is no charge for minor editing such as editing out any footage which obviously isn't required (e.g. old TV shows) on request or if we notice such footage ourselves, at no additional charge.
With audio tapes the sound is cleaned as much as possible and individual tracks are included on CD conversions to match the original recording.

If you require an on-screen title and menu with allocated chapter points there is an additional charge subject to discussion.

Is my videotape a format you can convert from?
It is highly likely that any home system used in the past thirty-five years would be one of the formats we can convert. If you are in any doubt please send us a picture of your tape and we will identify it for you. We are no longer able to convert Betamax tapes.

What video file format can you convert to?
We copy to .MOV or .MP4 by default but we can convert to many others on request and at the same cost. If you find that you do need another format after receiving your movie we will provide one at no additional charge. That way you can be confident your file will be compatible with your device but we can always advise on the best format when ordering.

Can you improve on the quality of the original video tape?
It is possible on some of the older formats to sharpen and enhance colour and this will be done automatically if applicable. What we will hope to do is reduce any degradation as much as possible and we may adjust brightness, contrast and colour saturation levels if required to obtain the best copy possible. In most cases you will see your video in as good a condition as was possible with your original equipment.

What is the maximum tape time that can be copied to DVD?
In order to retain as high a quality as possible we would not recommend much more than two hours. If the tape requires more than one DVD there is no extra charge for this.

We do not require customers to know the exact length of their video tapes. The standard charge is the same whether we use one DVD or more. However our quotation assumes your tape is recorded at the standard recording speed for the format unless you inform us to the contrary. If we quote for a tape and discover it is in long play mode after we have received it we will contact you prior to processing to make sure you wish us to proceed as additional cost may be involved.

Yes. If you wish we will title your DVD with a title text as per your instructions. There is no charge for this service. If you wish for a more complex label this is possible but may incur a small additional charge.

What happens if you find my tape is not transferable due to condition?
Sometimes tapes have degraded to the point where they are beyond saving. If this is the case your tapes are returned to you with no charge and at our expense. If we cannot convert them it costs you nothing.

What is the process for paying?
No deposit or pre-payment required. We do the work first - that's the priority! When your order is ready we will send you an invoice and payment can be made via MasterCard, Visa, American Express or bank transfer prior to dispatch.

Can you copy commercial movie tapes and DVDs I have previously purchased?
Unfortunately we are unable to convert these because of copyright restrictions.

What delivery options are there?
We can accept tapes delivered by hand or mailed to Lavender House, 1 Wheelers Patch, Emersons Green, Bristol, BS16 7JL. If you are bringing tapes yourself please call or email beforehand.
