If you are interested in a free no-obligation quotation please send details of your requirements via email giving details of your tapes and how you want them converted, and we will get back to you with a price. We are currently only able to convert the Philips type musicassette which was the most popular of the tape formats. If you have any other questions please email info@memoriesfromtape.co.uk or call 0117-2510069 and we will be happy to help.
Cassette Tape to CD
Tapes over 65 minutes in length will require two CDs. Included in the cost is a title label on the CD. Track listings can be added at additional cost.
If you require an MP3 CD please make sure your player is suitable for MP3 playback as not all are.
Cassette Tape to Audio Files
Tapes can be converted to WAV files or MP3. Each tape side can be converted to one continuous file or with each track as an individual file. The files will play via a computer and can be imported for use in your laptop and smartphone.
We can either arrange for you to download your audio files or we can supply a USB drive at an additional, nominal cost.
We use high quality Technics tape decks with low signal to noise ratios and this gives a much better result that the cheap poor quality tape transfer machines often used for conversion. We clean the sound files and only use top quality CDs, DVDs, SD cards and USB drives.
Additional copies of CDs are available for non-commercial tapes only. If your recording is "homemade", and you therefore own the copyright we are happy to make multiple copies. This does not include TV or radio programmes taped off air.
We can accept tapes delivered by hand or mailed to Lavender House, 1 Wheelers Patch, Emersons Green, Bristol, BS16 7JL. If you are bringing tapes yourself please call or email beforehand.
We will endeavour at all times to handle your tapes with due care and diligence, but tapes can deteriorate over time for many reasons, including wear and tear, storage conditions and old age, and can occasionally break when played due to material degradation. Unfortunately if this happens during processing Memories From Tape cannot be held responsible for replacement and will not be held liable for any compensation whatsoever.
Sometimes tapes have degraded to the point where they are beyond saving. If this is the case your tapes are returned to you with no charge and at our expense. If we cannot convert them it costs you nothing.
Payment can be made on collection/return of media by cash, MasterCard or Visa. For media returned via Royal Mail payment can be made by bank transfer or online with PayPal, MasterCard or Visa prior to dispatch by going to the Invoice Payment page here.
As I am sure you can appreciate your tapes have to be processed in real time. For example a one hour tape will take one hour just for the initial copy process. Total processing time including sound cleaning and track production of one hour tape is in excess of two hours. We endeavour to complete your order within one week but in certain circumstances it may be longer. We will always give you a target completion date with your quotation.
